Black Children’s Book Week (BCBW) is “a global celebration of Black children and the people who ensure they are represented in books and other children’s media” (read more). We are hosting a BCBW Book Fair designed to raise awareness about the importance of diversity in children’s literature and media. The event will include tabling authors, vendors, and organizations, workshops, author readings, panels, a drumming circle, and giveaways. We invite everyone to join the celebration: families, students, authors, illustrators, publishers, educators, librarians, youth organizations, and more. While this event is designed with BILPOC families across Connecticut in mind, everyone is welcome to join. We have offerings for participants of all ages!
Participants can RSVP here.
Anyone interested in volunteering at the event can sign up here.
